Being Present
Embodying the Fullness of Life in Community
Therapy and spirituality overlap in presence, along with art, flow states, relationships…
A central theme to personal growth/healing work and transpersonal spiritual paths is Being Present.
How present are we with life?
Modern Western culture is marked by distraction, dissociation, and disconnection—we spend a majority of our energy resisting and avoiding much of our lives.
In this group, we will come together to re-associate, reconnect, and access the healing and growth potential of being present to our immediate, embodied human experiences.
Part healing-therapy-process group, part deepening-spiritual-support group, we will gather to meet and hold each of our unique journeys, challenges, and gifts in the generative force of compassionate awareness. We will utilize therapeutic techniques and contemplative practices to help address specific issues relevant to the group, which may include:
-
recognizing and releasing stuck trauma in the body,
-
playing with autonomy and connection in real-time relationships,
-
feeling safely into intense emotions,
-
exploring negative beliefs and inner critics to loosen their influence,
-
developing tools and practices for slowing down, centering, and listening,
-
connecting with the more-than-human realms for support and a stronger sense of belonging,
-
cultivating capacity and greater comfort being authentic in community.
Not strictly tied to one single spiritual tradition, the group container will respect the varied ways we connect to the transpersonal, spiritual, and animistic dimensions of reality, humbly honoring our place as humans in a vastly more-than-human world.
The primary purpose of this group Being Present is to support each individual to meet the beauty and pain of life as it’s happening for you right now, to allow for a naturally healing, clarifying, and empowering process of living presence to unfold.
